Battle-stations
Soon, going to buy a computer like my brother's. He builds desktop computers, and can fix laptops/desktops.
Currently he has a black-tower with a red light. Not sure of the brand of the tower but its bad ass. Also has one of the new I7 Chips (8 Cores), a legit one. Has a couple high-end video cards (I think ATI, but cant remember, just woke up a while ago at like 5AM), but can have up to 4 at once and link them together. Not sure how many TBs of harddrive space. Also has a Bluray reader/writer. And, i think it currently has 6GB of RAM but can support up to 24GB of RAM. 24" Flat-screen monitor, Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard, not sure what mouse, and instead of watching bluray movies on the computer, he watches them on one of those new slim PS3s. - He also showed me of the Grand Theft Auto 4 game on his computer, graphics to maximum setting, and so it looks better and runs better than on the xbox; Game was very smooth, no lag, and loading was nonexistant lol. Also has a xbox-controller with a wireless hub for it connected to the computer to play computer games with xbox controller, very nice. -- That whole computer for around/over a $1000, or so he says, but still, a beast like that computer for the price, its a steal. Talk about supercomputer XD. But, when i buy a computer from him in around september, going to want with something like this: I7 Chip, 4-6GB RAM, 1-2 Video Cards: Preferably those new ATI HD ones lol. 500GB-1TB Internal Harddrive (Already have 2TB External). and a very decent gaming-size monitor. I am going to buy myself something like that ^ because my current main computer is a dell laptop that is very quickly losing its power. I can barely run any games anymore even with all the settings on minimum. motherboard can only support a max of 2GB, and the processor is dual-core, but getting outdated. What are all of your battlestations like? |

RE: Battle-stations
All i really have at my disposile right now in Afghanistan is my Samsung Laptop. Works nice as hell though, sports a i5 cpu, 8gb (2x4gb), 310m 1gb nvidia and a harddrive usb hub that holds my 2x2Tb harddrives for movies and games. The laptop runs like a dream, been playing crysis without any issues. Back in germany, my buddy holds on to my Acer computer which is the i7, holds 3x2TB and 1x1.5TB harddrive, cant remember the gfx card though to save my life, but it was surely a beauty. Both of these computers cost me less than 900$ each. (granted i used my military discount on the Laptop and used my Tax-Free form on the acer)

RE: Battle-stations
I have a 12" notebook for programming, a 17" notebook with mid-range graphical card for normal gaming and a desktop. The desktop has a Core2Duo processor, 4GB, 500GB and NVIDIA 8800GT in it. I have a second 8800GT here, still must see if my mainboard supports two videocards. Not the newest hardware, but since I only play some world of warcraft now and then, it's more then enough.
Sony has announced shiny new touchscreen computers. For now only a simple model with Intel i3 processor, when they build systems with i7 I might get me one

RE: Battle-stations
If we're going deep, I got 3 computers.
First is my notebook: * Acer Aspire 5738Z * Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 (2.10 GHz, FSB 800MHz, cache L2 1MB) * SATA2 250GB HDD * 2GB DDR3 RAM * 15.6" LED HDReady * OS: Fedora Core 12 Second is my mothers PC (it was my, but I gave it to her, because I got notebook for work and XBOX360 for gaming, and I don't need this PC): * AMD Athlon (I don't remember exactly model number, but it got 2 cores) * nVidia 9500 GT * SATA1 80GB HDD * 2GB DDR2 RAM * 17" CRT * OS: Micro$oft Window$ XP Premium Edition Third one have Intel Pentium Core (I don't remember model number) and is in box, because there is no one to be "its master". It don't have HDD if I remember good, but besides that it fine. Integrated graphics, 256MB DIMM RAM. That's all I think...
